Night of July 19th and July 20th: Arrival & Drag Day!

Our adventure in Las Vegas began with a bit of excitement as we landed at Harry Reid International Airport on July 21st. Our Air Canada flight was smooth, though it was delayed slightly, but we finally touched down and made our way to the iconic Bellagio Hotel. 🌟 The Bellagio, famous for its stunning fountain show, was our first stop. Despite the late hour, we managed to catch the last five minutes of the mesmerizing fountain display. We spent the rest of the night getting our bearings and exploring the hotel.

After a much-needed rest, we woke up early the next morning, eager to explore. The hotel’s daytime beauty was even more impressive, and we couldn’t resist a refreshing dip in the Bellagio pool. 🏊‍♂️ The morning swim was a perfect start to our day under the bright Vegas sun.

After our swim, we followed with a visit to the Caesar’s Palace Forum Shops. 🏛️ The circular escalator and the opulent decor were awe-inspiring! We enjoyed exploring the luxury shops and marveling at the fountains.

Afterwards, we headed to Señor Frog’s for a lively Drag Brunch. 🎤 We had an amazing time watching performances by Hot Chocolate, Yara Sofia, Deja Skye, Roxy Brooks Lords, and Desree St James. The show was full of energy and entertainment.

As the afternoon sun blazed at 44°C (111°F), we returned to the Bellagio pool to cool off and soak up the rays. 🌞 We also received an adorable photo from Meowtante Lynn, who was cat-sitting Saba while we were away. Despite the fun, we couldn't help but miss our chatty kitty, Caicos.

For dinner, we visited Battista’s Hole in The Wall, which came highly recommended. 🍽️ We filmed the experience for TikTok and shared a meal of chicken parmigiana and baked ravioli. The food was delicious, and the restaurant’s charm was undeniable.

In the evening, we headed to the Flamingo Showroom for RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! 🎭 Hosted by Asia O’Hara, with performances by Latrice Royale, Yara Sofia, Derrick Barry, and Kahanna Montrese, the show was a spectacular end to a vibrant day. We took plenty of photos and videos—stay tuned for more!

July 21: Spa Relaxation and Gay Pool Party!

Yesterday was an amazing day! We started off with some bad news—Our friend's flight got canceled. We had to think quickly and book a hotel since the rooms we had were a gift from them, and they couldn’t be here to check us in. Thank goodness for Hotels.com; we secured a room at the Luxor.

Our morning began with a visit to the Bellagio spa for a couples 100-minute massage. It was definitely in our top 10 massages ever! 💆‍♂️💆‍♂️✨

In the afternoon, we relaxed at the Luxor pool at Temptation Island, a weekly pride event. The drinks were flowing, and the eye candy was amazing. 😎🍹 Nick had a bit too much and had to be put to bed at 6. 🛌💤

July 22nd: Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, and Scenic Views

Our adventure began with a long drive to the Hoover Dam. 🚗🌄 The size and grandeur of the dam left us in awe as we marveled at its engineering and the surrounding landscape.

Afterward, we made our way to the Grand Canyon for an unforgettable day. 🏞️ Our first activity was a thrilling helicopter tour into the canyon, offering breathtaking views. Our pilot, AJ, made the experience even more memorable. We landed inside the canyon for a picnic and enjoyed the serene beauty despite the heat.

Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we missed the Skywalk at Eagle Point. We planned to discuss this with our GetYourGuide reps, as we had paid for it but couldn't fit it in. Nonetheless, we explored Guano Point, had lunch, and captured stunning photos of the canyon.

On our way back, our bus driver Derek made an impromptu stop in Boulder City, where we saw wild goats and took pictures of Lake Mead. It was a long but incredible day, reminding us of the Grand Canyon’s breathtaking beauty.

Company: Gray Line Tours (with Derrick as driver/guide and AJ as helicopter pilot from Maverick)

🌟🌟🌟(out of 5)

The actual location is breathtaking, our tour guide and driver Derrick was amazing and friendly. The helicopter tour was exhilirating and AJ made it much more fun by being a funny guy to chat with. Our issue was with communication and organization. The emails we received made us believe the tour started at 7:30 but we missed our bus because lower in the email it said 6:30. When we arrived at the canyon, we had to wait and sit for an hour to do our helicopter tour. We then couldn't complete the Skywalk portion of the tour because of lack of time. Thankfully we complained to GetYourGuide about the isues we encountered and they provided us with a partial refund for the activities we missed.

July 23rd - Relaxation and New Discoveries 🛌🌴

We moved to our third hotel, MGM Park, and began the day with a hearty breakfast at the America restaurant in New York-New York. 🏙️🍽️

Afterward, we spent the day lounging by the pool, soaking up the sun, and relaxing. While at the pool, we met new friends Sam and Taz. ☀️🏊‍♀️

That night, we visited Fremont Street to experience old Vegas. We had dinner at Victory Burger and enjoyed exploring various shops and casinos. 🍔🎰

July 24th - Arrival in Los Angeles and Iconic Sights 🌊🌟

We made our way to Los Angeles and began our adventure at Santa Monica Pier. It was our first visit, and we loved walking the boardwalk and dipping our feet in the chilly Pacific waters. 🌴🌊

We then enjoyed lunch at Big Dean’s Oceanfront Cafe, with Jean-Luc having chicken tacos and Nick opting for a Caesar wrap. Both were delicious and gave us the energy to continue our day. 🌮

Next, we explored Beverly Hills, visiting the Beverly Wilshire Hotel and walking down Rodeo Drive, re-enacting scenes from “Pretty Woman.” 🌟🛍️

Later in the day, we visited Hollywood Boulevard. We started at the TCL Chinese Theatre, famous for its Forecourt of the Stars where the handprints, footprints, and signatures of Hollywood’s biggest stars are immortalized in cement. 📽️🌟

We also took a closeup of the Hollywood Sign, capturing some amazing photos. 🎥

In addition, we saw the Dolby Theatre, known for hosting the Academy Awards, and the historic Roosevelt Hotel, which opened in 1927 and has been a staple of Hollywood glamour ever since. Other iconic buildings we visited on Hollywood Boulevard included the Hollywood Wax Museum and the El Capitan Theatre. 🌟🏨

Our favourite tour and guide! We had so much fun on this trip and highly reccomend booking through this company. The van was amazing with WIFI, snacks all day and water. Matt our tour guide was super friendly and talked to us about the history of Hollywood which made the day go by faster. The stops were all amazing with plenty of time to get the best photo ops. Lunch was great too!

After a fantastic day exploring, we headed back to Las Vegas with our amazing tour group. That night, we had dinner at PF Chang’s and ran into Taz and Sam, new friends we’d met at the pool earlier. 🥢🍜

July 25th - A Relaxing Pool Day and Culinary Delights 🏖️🍴

On July 27th, we enjoyed a relaxing day at the pool with new friends Taz, Sam, and Robyn, a local follower who joined us for a swim. 🌞🏊‍♂️

Later, we dined at The Bedford by Martha Stewart at Paris Las Vegas. The restaurant, designed to mimic Martha’s home in Bedford, Connecticut, was a luxurious experience. 🍽️🏛️

We started with a delicious bread basket and a fantastic Caesar salad, followed by a roasted chicken meal with sides of broccoli au gratin and smashed potatoes. The food was incredible, and the staff made us feel special. 🍗🥗

Afterwards, we attended the Spice Girls Wannabe show at Excalibur. It was a nostalgic blast, singing along to our favorite songs from childhood. 🎶👯

The show was a highlight of our trip, and we enjoyed meeting some amazing ladies who sat at our table. It was a night filled with fun and memories. 💖

July 26th: A Day of Natural Wonders 🌄

Our day began with a visit to Horseshoe Bend in Arizona. Despite the sweltering heat 🌞, the walk to see this natural marvel was incredibly rewarding. The sweeping views were breathtaking, and we were a bit daring with our photos—carefully, of course! 📸

Following our visit to Horseshoe Bend, we ventured to Antelope Canyon, where we were absolutely blown away by the stunning formations. It was a tough choice picking just a few shots because there were so many incredible ones. If you ever have the chance, visiting Antelope Canyon is a must. Whether you go with a tour or explore on your own, it’s worth every moment. Our guide, Wyatt, was fantastic—he made sure we captured the best possible photos and shared fascinating details about how the canyons formed. 🏜️

We also captured a wonderful photo of a family we met during our adventure. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

It was an incredible day filled with natural beauty and unforgettable experiences! 🌟

We experienced a lot of issues on this excusrion. The driver was not friendly, we only were offered one bottle of water the entire day, he tried to charge a $15 service fee and the lunch was bad. Please find a way to visit this place through a different tour operator. Our guide Wyatt at Antelope Canyone was amazing and took most of our photos!

July 27th: Homecoming and Farewell 🌟🛬

We flew home on Air Canada, and upon arrival, we were thrilled to see Eugene Levy at the luggage carousel! Although he didn’t want a crowd, we managed a quick photo as proof. 📸 We also reconnected with Lynn and shared stories of our trip over dinner.

Our cat Saba was ecstatic to see us, and we received heartfelt gifts and cards from friends. Our return was a perfect end to an incredible adventure. 🐱💌

As we reflect on this incredible adventure, it’s clear how much we needed this escape to recharge and find joy after the loss of our beloved Caicos. This vacation wasn’t just a trip; it was a much-needed journey to heal and celebrate life. The vibrant energy of Las Vegas, the breathtaking beauty of the Grand Canyon, and the simple joys of new experiences brought a renewed sense of wonder and happiness.

Each moment, from the dazzling lights of Fremont Street to the serene views of Antelope Canyon, helped us remember the beauty in life’s journey and the importance of cherishing every adventure. Though Caicos is dearly missed, the memories we made and the laughter we shared have been a comforting reminder of the love and joy he brought into our lives.

Thank you for joining us on this journey. We hope our experiences inspire you to embrace every moment, seek out new adventures, and find healing in your own travels.

Here’s to the road ahead and the new memories yet to be made. 🌟❤️
